Good News: I found a friend to model for me. She's beautiful, fun to hang out with, and said she's willing to pose for my camera. Bad News: My winter queen photo shoot didn't happen because my friend canceled last minute (claiming illness) and now the snow is all melted. I'll have to plan another shoot to do with her, but I have to think of a different theme. A little bummed about missing out on the winter backdrop, though.

So I have two problems, one of which I seek advice on. My old Kodak Easy Share M853 died a while back. I've been borrowing my mother's inferior Nikon CoolPix L20 for family pictures but I need something better, especially for artistic photo shoots. Plus, she's been getting annoyed with my fairly frequent camera-snatching (half the time without permission). She's offered to buy me a replacement. The most she'd be willing to pay is $200 and I could kick in an additional $100 for a good quality camera. I want something with a fast shutter speed, decent zoom, adjustable ISO, and (most importantly) sharp image and color clarity. I still haven't t

I started this DA account just to share my poetry. But I'm not a very good poet, the words don't come out easily. I've since discovered photography and while I don't think I'm very good at that either, it's an easier form of expression for me. I've got a cheap point-and-shoot digital camera and I've never taken a class on this artistic form, but I certainly want to pursue it further. So thanks to all my new watchers and thanks to anyone who has added my work to their list of favorites. It's been a real confidence booster. I'll upload more photos as soon as I can.
